[When Loki wakes up the sun is already setting. And he has to admit he feels rather horrible. His feet are cold and his neck feels stiff and sore. He is also not wearing his own clothes, but a black pair of pants and a t shirt to match. They dressed him up in rather boring civvies.
The journal is lying next to him and he grabs it but doesn't open it at all.
First thing he does after getting up is climbing a small tree, trying to sort his thoughts before anyone would spot him, because for some reason they fail to make sense.
Well, knows what he has been doing the past couple of days. There was a draft, undead creatures and he set up traps, met one girl with blue hair and another girl with knives. He got wounded. And that is where everything becomes very blurry.
He might have visited a hospital? Something with books about chess? And there was this vague image of Saori somewhere...and his older self. And blood.
He waits until darkness has settled in completely and the other people in the village are going to their beds. Honestly, Loki is not the most happy 12 year old at this point, and all he wants is to get to his room without being seen. Without having to answer questions or have awkward conversations that would only be a great contribution to that headache that is slowly developing...]

Billy! Or anyone who lives on the fifth floor of the fifth apartmentbuilding!
It is of great importance that the system of heating is turned on inside my room.
If one has done so allow me to express my joy with a smiley face :-)
[OOC: Loki got killed during the zombie!event on the 28th, his death penalty is a creepy inability to feel warmth.
He'll stay the night at Saori's place, but feel free to catch him snooping around in backyards.]

Aye. That is what happens when someone dies. Grief, sadness, mourning, guilt.
[He looks up from his plate, face blank.]
I appreciate your offer, but I do not wish to talk about it. As I stated earlier, there is not much to say.
[Did these people really miss him? The way he misses Thor sometimes?]
[Action]
[Ben gave a shrug and stood, grabbing another plate of burgers for himself. The serious business was brought up and set aside easily enough. No need to keep this heavy. They've got enough to worry about.]
[Action]
[He does. But its good to know Ben believes its done because Loki is quite sure that when he is done eating he has to go to his room to cry for a couple of seconds.
Loki likes to keep his tears to an absolute minimum.]
Others do, though. Quite remarkable.
[Action]
[Action]
[He moves to put a considerable amount of mustard on one of the burgers. And he pulls a face when he notices that mustard is really not that tasteful.]
Gross. Ugh, gross!
[Action]
[Ben slides a burger without any mustard across the table to Loki, trying not to laugh at his disgust.]
Thought ya didn't like mustard.
[Action]
Aye, that is understandable.
[Loki understands that very well. He has been sad over Thor's dead. And sometimes he still is, and sometimes he still misses his brother a lot.
After all, Loki has been the one who staged his death and he has felt very guilty for doing so.
He huffs softly and reaches for an empty glass to fill it with juice. Everything to get rid of the taste of mustard. How Midgardians were able to eat such a thing is beyond him.]
I definitely do not. But I decided to give it a try, because I do not give up on things. Not even on the disgusting taste of mustard.
[Action]
Heh. That's a good attitude t'have. Who knows. One day y'might find a kinda mustard y'like. Yellow stuff can be pretty bitter. Y'ever tried honey mustard?
[Action]
Only time will tell, Ben.
[He reaches for the juice again, noticing he has burned his tongue in the process of eating all those burgers. After taking a couple of sips he looks up again.]
I hope you do not mind that I will disappear into my quarters soon. I can use some well deserved sleep.
[And he definitely feels like crap, at least that is how the Midgardians tend to describe it...]
[Action]
[He stands to start collecting dishes, piling them up for a trip to the kitchen sink. He shifts the bulk of it to one hand and rests the other on Loki's shoulder for a moment.]
Left some extra blankets in there for ya and the heat's cranked up just like I said. You need anyth'n, gimme a holler.
[Action]
The second he turns his back towards the other he can feel tears coming up and he despises crying. Loki does not cry. So he bites his lower lip very hard to prevent his shoulders from shaking or any sob from coming out.
He leaves the kitchen quickly...]
[Action]
Kid- Loki. Look-
[And yeah, he's crying and trying to hide it and that just punches Ben in the gut that he feels like he feels like he has to do that. He doesn't think twice about pulling the kid into a big, orange bear hug.]
It's okay. You're back. It's over. You're fine.
[Action]
And yes, being cared for is a great feeling. Having a multitude of friends is rather amazing. But he still stiffens into the hold, his hands pressed against his own chest, eyes squeezed shut. He is huffing softly, biting his lower lip hard enough to make it painful.]
I am.
[But that is not the thing that is bothering him. And he hates crying and when the first tear runs down his cheek he squirms slightly so he can wipe it away.]
I rather... Can I?
[Action]
Sure kid.
[Action] [thats the saddest Ben-icon I have ever seen ;A;]
I despise crying.
[He huffs softly while rubbing his eyes.]
I shall blame it on fatigue, yes?
[Action] [He is the saddest panda]
[He rests a hand on Loki's shoulder and pulls a napkin from the table before offering it over.]
Happens t'everyone.
[Action] [;A;]
[That is a very, very good excuse. It is perfectly normal to cry when you are this tired. Because rubbing eyes just isn't cutting it anymore. And Loki does not feel sad or heavy hearted. Not really.
He is tired though, he has spend the night curled up against someone else, hoping for the moment that sleep would take over and it never came.
Loki feels incredibly overwhelmed with everything. All the caring, all the kind words, meals ready for him, people missing him in the most genuine way.
Yes, overwhelmed is very fitting.]
Aye... I guess that is it. It happens to everyone.
[Action]
[It was just down the hall but he'd feel better knowing the Kid was safe in his own place. Leav'n him alone didn't sit right with him- but he didn't think that Loki would appreciate being treated like a human child. Things are probably very different in Asgard.
On the other hand, $#@%, he'd just died. Can't be easy. He'll leave the option open, it's all he can do.]
There are days when even I don't wanna get outta bed, kiddo. Everthy'ns just too bright or too sharp or too much of an effort t'bother.
[Action]
He isn't really protesting when Ben offers to walk him to his room. He swallows a sob away and turns around.]
No, that is just being excruciating lazy, Ben.
[It was a joke, or an attempt to...]
[Action]
[He can joke back if it makes Loki happy. He can ignore the crying to a degree and walk Loki back down the hall with a warm, rough hand against his back. He's done all he can, made the offers that he could. Outside of sitting with him all night there wasn't much else he could do. And it's not Franklin, for all that Loki reminds him of the kid.]
Day or night, y'need to talk to someone, or you get an idea f'a prank? Give a holler.
[Action]
They sure are a lot more comfortable than the one I have back home. A soft surface beats a small stack of hay spread out over the ground and a single blanket.
[He is aware of the large hand resting against his back but choses not to make a point of that. When Ben starts talking again Loki looks up and listens while wiping the last traces of tears away.]
This is greatly appreciated, all of this. Everything.
[Action]
[Unless camping was involved- and there was an idea. Something to keep in mind for when the weather wasn't quite so cold. Take the kid camping. He might like it.
Ben rolls this thought around in his head for awhile and offers a faint grin.]
Yer welcome Loki.
[Action]
It is not a very bad thing. I have been used to it.
[He takes a hold of the doorknob of the door that leads to his room and is glad to know that he isn't crying anymore. The confusion stays, though, as well the overwhelming feeling.
He musters a smile.]
I shall be in better spirits tomorrow, yes?
[Action]
[Hot cocoa, good for what ails ya. At least when it comes to kids that have been through hell.]
Sleep well Loki.
[Action]
That would be most pleasant.
[He enters his room and nods for a second time.]
I will.
[Hopefully... After those words he softly closes the door and hurries to the bathroom. There is still a lot more crying that needs to be done.]
