[When Loki wakes up the sun is already setting. And he has to admit he feels rather horrible. His feet are cold and his neck feels stiff and sore. He is also not wearing his own clothes, but a black pair of pants and a t shirt to match. They dressed him up in rather boring civvies.
The journal is lying next to him and he grabs it but doesn't open it at all.
First thing he does after getting up is climbing a small tree, trying to sort his thoughts before anyone would spot him, because for some reason they fail to make sense.
Well, knows what he has been doing the past couple of days. There was a draft, undead creatures and he set up traps, met one girl with blue hair and another girl with knives. He got wounded. And that is where everything becomes very blurry.
He might have visited a hospital? Something with books about chess? And there was this vague image of Saori somewhere...and his older self. And blood.
He waits until darkness has settled in completely and the other people in the village are going to their beds. Honestly, Loki is not the most happy 12 year old at this point, and all he wants is to get to his room without being seen. Without having to answer questions or have awkward conversations that would only be a great contribution to that headache that is slowly developing...]

Billy! Or anyone who lives on the fifth floor of the fifth apartmentbuilding!
It is of great importance that the system of heating is turned on inside my room.
If one has done so allow me to express my joy with a smiley face :-)
[OOC: Loki got killed during the zombie!event on the 28th, his death penalty is a creepy inability to feel warmth.
He'll stay the night at Saori's place, but feel free to catch him snooping around in backyards.]

[action]
[Yet, he inches closer to the fire, holding a feint hope that it would make him feel at least a little bit warmer.]
Did they manage to find a cure? How awfully late, right?
[action]
[He pauses, glancing over worriedly, then reaches out to touch a hand against Loki's, briefly.]
Is that... maybe what they took from you?
[action]
[Loki raises his eyebrows, looking a bit shocked. How awful.]
I see. They call upon us to engage in a battle that is out of their control, yet when they find out we are unable to control it either they bomb us just to be safe? With dreaded weapons of mass destruction?
My hands still feels warm.
[He grabs a hold of Billy's hand to prove his point if the other has not been able to notice it earlier.]
See? It feels warm, yes?
[After that he thinks for a moment, remembering Saori's words.]
I believe they did. It is a punishment, you see? For dying.
[Loki notices that it angers him.]
[action]
This whole thing... it really sucks. We don't even have a choice of whether to go or not, and they decide to punish us for not meeting unreasonable goals? It makes no sense.
[action]
I am not one for negative thoughts towards others since they are so very tiresome and unnecesary. But this upsets me. The aftermath of all of this is...rather overwhelming and extremely painful.
Not to me...I am fine...
[No he is not, but that is not the point of his speech.]
...but others aren't.
[action]
Did... something else happen?
[action]
I rather not talk about how I feel. It is not relevant to the story.
[action]
[He shrugs his shoulders, ducking his head and leaning against the back of the couch. He's the last person who should be telling someone to share their private worries instead of keeping it to himself, but he's better at dishing out the advice of his psychologist mother instead of following it.]
I'm not going to push you for it. Just know that the offer's there.
[action]
I understand that concept. And I also understand that trusting a friend with private matter is very important. It tightens the bond of great friendship, you see?
[Finally he moves to sit in front of the heater, extending his arms.]
I will keep your offer in mind, Billy. Yet, I do not entirely believe that you would trust me with your secrets and worries.
[action]
[Billy scuffs a hand through his hair, feeling half-cornered, so when Loki moves away he just stays put, facing the opposite wall. There's not really many people he'd trust with his own secrets, save a few that he doesn't bother hiding from anyone who might ask (in which case they're not really secrets, are they?), but his secrets... well. With people from his universe, he knows those secrets won't win him any friends. Magneto, Mephisto, the Scarlet Witch-
...lots of secrets. Though it's also true that Loki's the last person who should be pointing fingers about having a relation to villains.
Maybe someday.]
Like I said, no pressure.
[action]
Indeed. That makes us friends but not b.f.f.'s. According to the great code of great friendship one gets the status of b.f.f. when a certain bond of trust is established. Friends merely enjoy eachother's company and wit.
[He isn't really expecting from Billy to trust him. For Loki trust will always be a huge issue. The only person he really trusts is Leah, and Leah is not here. He huffs a second time when he realizes he misses her a bit.]
As many people on Midgard say: 'there is a time for everything'.
[action]
[Billy chuckles quietly, finally glancing over at Loki. He definitely has something on his mind, but Billy had vowed not to pry, so for the moment he'll leave it alone. Friends don't pry. Good friends prod. Best friends pry all they need.
And that does take time, definitely.]
You want something hot to drink? Maybe it'll work better that way.
[He doubts it, but there's no penalty for trying.]
[action]
[Loki is hip enough to not use phrases used by old people and he shakes his head to emphasize that.]
Of course. It will not help, but I do prefer hot, sweet drinks that taste like chocolate. And we should discuss the magic lessons I will be following, yes? I wish to know what you want to teach me and in return I shall let you know if I approve of it or not.
[This is a way better subject to talk about than that draft and its horrible aftermath.]
[action]
He is happy about the shifted topic, though, so he heads over to the kitchenette area just around the corner to set the kettle to boil, raising his voice so Loki can hear him from the fireplace.]
Um... okay, magic lessons... you can't do any magic yet, right? So you need the basics first. I'm no expert, but if you want, we can start today, and I can give you a few exercises to do on your own.
[action]
Aye.
[His voice sounds doubtful when he answers that.]
Will you teach me same the basics your master taught you?
[He scoots closer to the heater and closes his eyes for a moment, tucking his arms away inside his shirt and crossing them over his chest.]
[action]
Um. Well, I was kind of self-taught until I got here, so I've never really had a master. How I learned... it's all about willpower. Here, I'll-
[He returns to the couch, hopping over and sitting on the floor near Loki, crossing his legs with his elbows on his knees, hands outstretched.]
I've heard that my power is altering reality, but in a way, that's what all magic is- using what you see in your mind to change the world around you and make the two match up. Back when I first discovered my powers, I was in a fight, and I thought my life was in danger, so all I could think was, "I want this person to stop. I want to make him leave me alone. I want to defend myself." The magic responded to my thoughts, and it changed the world to make it happen. And that's when-
[Lightning sparks between his fingers, lancing around his hands briefly before he lets it fade away again.]
-This happened.
[action]
He watches the sparks closely, frowning as he does so. Billy's magical powers seem to be a completely natural. No spells here, probably an ability coming forth from having super powers and the like.]
What kind of magic does your master teach you exactly?
[He looks up, raising one eyebrow.]
It seems you have mastered the basics fairly well, you see?
[After that he frowns again and turns to look at his own hands. He is not quite sure if he possesses a natural gift regarding magic but he does know he is able to understand things very quickly.
And...]
I am full of questions today, Billy. I am fond of asking questions thus I shall ask you many questions.
Have you been treated unfairly?
[action]
Well. First: Like I said, I didn't have a master, but Teddy helped me learn to control my powers using self help books. That's where the chanting habit comes from- I learned to focus on what I want and let magic make it happen. I learned to shoot lightning, then fly, and then everything else came a little more naturally over time. Second: I'm still learning, but yeah, I've got the gist of it by now. And third... I'm not sure what you mean by unfairly. By who? You mean the fight I mentioned?
[action]
Is Teddy your master? I thought someone else has been responsible for teaching you the finer things in magic here in the land of Luceti. Is it possibly the man called Helios?
[Teddy does not look much like a sorcerer. But still, looks could be deceiving. He moves to rub his eyes briefly before continuing to speak.]
Ah, great pummeling and bullying.
[action]
[He's really not comfortable with mentioning the older Loki, since this Loki has already expressed how little he likes the guy, so he refrains from getting more specific about it. It's just asking for trouble.]
Sounds like you know by experience, there. Sometimes people are just jerks, you know? And wishing they'd stop doesn't seem to solve any problems, either.
[action]
Loki nods shortly and realizes very well that Billy is kind of avoiding his question. Like he has done on an earlier occasion.
Loki leans forward a little.]
Billy of New York, please stop avoiding my questions. It is not very cool, you see? If you wish to not tell me, you do not have to. But do not pretend as if a question did not leave my mouth.
Doing so implies that the identity of your master has to remain a big secret.
[His voice sounds very tired and his mind does not stop to overthink this, throwing conclusions at him that are rather unsettling.]
Of course I am experienced when it comes to being on the receiving end of great pummeling. After all, it comes with my name.
[action]
He'd rather not cause some sort of fight, that's all.]
Aren't you the one with the selective hearing, here? I already told you over and over that I don't have a master. What's made you so convinced that I do?
[Has something given him away, or is Loki just making assumptions? Because if it's the former, then it's something to work on, clearly.]
Re: [action]
Forgive me, Billy. You referred to a magic club in an earlier conversation. I merely figured that you would have a master as well.
My most sincere apologies. I shall not mention it again.
[But something remains off and it worries him. Yet, that worry does not show on his face, he smiles a warm smile at Billy.]
[action]
It's okay. Actually, now that you mention it, the magic club would be a good place for you to study, too. It's got plenty of people who are into magic but not necessarily masters. You could learn a lot in a group.
[action]
I will consider that.
[He nods and its obvious that he is fighting against sleep now.]
