[When Loki turns the feed on it is really, really, really early in the morning. As in ridiculous-o-clock. And he knows it is ridiculously early and that is why he talks really loud. So that everyone who is in the process of waking up can hear him loud and clear. After all, everything Loki has to tell is very important and everyone should hear it.]

Attention denizens of Luceti!!

I have everyone’s attention, yes? Good, very good.

From one user of magic to another, I have a question for all of those who practice the art of magic or sorcery. Are there some of you where this is a talent that is hidden within one’s genes or is it mere talent? Or is it something one generates from spells out of books? Or are there some who utilize magic wands or some other magic artifact?

This is meant to start an interesting discussion about the usage of magic, you see? To create a bond between magic users... A magical bond!

[Oh, the pun!

No way in hel Loki is going to announce that he is not quite able to do magic on his own and that most of his efforts end up in giant headaches and maybe one or two floating objects. And no way he will leave it to just one question. Loki likes asking questions.

He leans a bit closer to the screen of his journal.]

May I ask who is pranking my older self? Because to burden him with such an interesting hair do is mischief of a very advanced kind. As the god of mischief I wish to bestow great compliments upon him on her.

Maybe even an award.

What does one give to a maiden with an interesting hair color? Something matching with her hair color? A brush to comb that hair? Or a ribbon?

Or maybe something so she can indulge herself into the act of shopping and try on different outfits? After all, that is what most maidens are very, very fond of.

Am I correct to presume you have been an empty shell all the time?

And will you eventually return to that state again?

It is not quite correct to call me a "shell" in that state. I am still a complete person, though lacking in memory, and I share many of the same traits--though I usually express myself somewhat differently.

You are correct, however, to assume my current state is temporary. The last time the Malnosso lifted my seal, they did so only for a matter of days.

[Loki frowns. That is cruel, so very, very cruel. He shakes his head.]

But your essence is gone, maiden. How do you see yourself as a complete person when the core of who you have been, of who you are is lost?

Or, in your case, sealed.

But it is not lost completely. Even sealed, I share the same love for my friends, the same desire to protect those who have need of it. I still enjoy spending time beside those I care for. I even take the same pleasure in making things grow and spending time in the forest.

While I have no memory of my purpose or reason for existing, fundamentally, I am still the same person. [A brief pause.] Perhaps it would be best to say in that state I am neither complete nor a shell, but something in between.

It is a complicated matter. I would probably not prefer the predicament you are in.

[Especially since his memories are already rather limited to begin with.]

Indeed. I would rather focus on what I do have, as opposed to what I do not. I find it to be a healthier approach.

It is good to appreciate what you have and to focus on that, yet I am not sure if that would count if you do not know what you have and if it is worth focusing on, you see?

After all, it depends a lot on the things what you could have had and want to have.

They are connected in a great connection of things one wants, would and will have.

And what if there is very little you want from life?

Hmm, I am torn between two answers, Grune. That one's life must be satisfying as it is, or just very empty and meaningless.

[She smiles a little at his response. While her life always will have meaning--she came into being for a specific purpose, after all--sometimes, it's difficult to tell whether it is satisfying or empty.

Usually, she does not have the luxury of time to ponder this. However, in Luceti, time is something they all have in large amounts.]

I value memories. How painful they might be.

Memories should be valued. Whether they are painful or pleasant, they are important nonetheless.

[He knows how important this is because his own are nowhere near complete. And it would be so much easier if they were.]

I am very sure some wish to temper with their memories but forgetting all that has been hurtful will not make you a better person, you see?

[She wouldn't actually make the request, but...the thought is tempting.]

I see where you are coming from. And I do not ask you to reveil his or her name. But if you might know this anonymous, do tell him or her that I, Loki Laufeyson, sympathize.

I will. It is always important to know that there is support available during a difficult time.

Well, he seems to have a constant difficult time. As in, a continuous period of doom and gloom and not quite willing to see beyond that.

[Loki is a wise perhaps-not-so-young man.]

It is true that outlook sometimes makes life here harder to bear. Perhaps I should have said during a particularly difficult time.

If you choose to revel in negativity and bitterness and anger, every time is a difficult time. Because one's mind would probably find a way to twist even the most joyous moments into something painful and difficult.

You are correct. And that would only continue the cycle of misery, until it became very difficult indeed to escape it.

[But not impossible. No matter how bleak a situation may appear, she believes some hope always remains.]
